I am drawn to rhythms found in the natural environment, which inspires my Fiber Art work— in both process and form.
My tapestry work begins with a detailed design I draw on a grid of graph paper to define my intended composition, that reveals variations in color, shape and form. Within my designs there are contrasts as well as complimentary statements. And I enjoy repetition with unexpected variations due to the variegated fiber I use.
I also create a range of collages experiments as well as marbled work by hydroprinting acrylics to silk or rice paper; the overlays of different patterns make each piece graphic and unique.
